The "Sickle Walker" is a mysterious somewhat raptor-like species that is feared within the entire Locus. These creatures are known for their high intelligence and ability to stalk their prey undetected in heavily wooded areas, making them difficult to track and evade. With razor-sharp claws, horns resembling a sickle and an acid pouch they are extremely dangerous and hostile to any living creature. They posses a sack on their throat that lets them spit acid up to 10 Meters.
The Sickle Walkers are elusive and difficult to capture, leaving their true nature and origins shrouded in mystery. Some believe they are the product of genetic experimentation, while others speculate that they are a remnant from free roaming Noctapods. There is not much information about their behavior, its just known that they hunt in packs and most likely communicate with their horns.
Adult sicklewalkers are bigger and far more dangerous then their juvenile counter parts. Due to the weight of their arms, they are no longer able to walk on all fours.
The most common type of sicklewalker is the so called "terestian" sicklewalker. These were documented first and roam most places of the realm.

The "Icicle Walker" is a rare subspecies of the sickle walker that inhabit the frigid and inhospitable regions of the Locus. These creatures are known for their extreme intelligence and cunning tactics, making them formidable predators that can stalk their prey undetected. With large bodies and icicle-like spines protruding from their backs, they are extremely dangerous and hostile. Their white fur and larger size distinguishing them from their cousins in warmer habitats. An uncormfired sighting from a citicen of the daydream realm. While leaving his dreamscape, he saw the silhouette of a "larger then usual" Sicklewalker with an odd colouration. This will be further investigated.
How to act when encountering a sickle walker
When you spottet one:
Encounters with this creature are extremely dangerous. If you spot one, make sure to hide silently and quickly. Be aware that a sickle walker is never alone, and the rest of the pack is nearby. Make your exit as fast as possible. Do not stand within a 10-meter radius to avoid an acid attack.
When they spottet you:
If a sickle walker has spotted you, make sure to exit the area immediately. They will most likely alarm other pack members and chase you down. Do not walk in a straight line if you are within a 10-meter radius to avoid an acid attack.
Do not be fooled if they slow down or just stare at you. They communicate silently through their sonar. If they don't chase you, a pack member has most likely sneaked behind you, ready to attack. These creatures are extremely hostile; do not attempt to use passive tactics like lying down. Threatening them does not work unless you are with a large group of people.
Juvenile sickle walkers cannot climb. Use this to your advantage. Keep in mind, however, that the acid may burn the trees you climb. Prefer man-made structures or other non-organic ones. While sickle walkers can swim, they cannot dive very deep. If you have the possibility to jump into a river or dive into deep water, use it.

When no escape can be made:
If a sickle walker has cornered you, you have no other option than to defend yourself. Make loud noises to alert bystanders. If you are lucky, sickle hunters may be nearby and will assist you. However, do not rely on that. Be aware that a member of the pack may be behind you or waiting for a surprise attack. Try to somewhat shield yourself.
Use any abilities you have to your advantage. Certain abilities that are triggered by the fight-or-flight response may save your life.

H.E.A protocol:
The H.E.A protocol is a suggested strategy when fighting a sickle walker one-on-one. It stands for Horns, Eyes, Acid.
First, target the Horns.
Try to destroy the horns. This will stun the sickle walker for a moment and prevent it from silently communicating with the pack. It will become more vocal and may attack without using pack tactics.
Next, focus on poking out the Eyes.
Blinding a sickle walker and disrupting its sonar will leave it stunned. This is your best opportunity to make an escape.
Finally, aim to destroy the Acid sac.
Once blinded and cut off from communication, the sickle walker will rely on sound and attempt to spray acid in your direction. It will lower its guard at this point, giving you the best chance to slice up the acid sack. From there, you can use ranged attacks within a safe radius. However, still maintain some distance in case it uses its spikes, claws, or tries to bite you.

These tactics are created for encounters with juvenile sicklewalkers in a small pack. There is no confirmed tactic for encounters with adult members or with crimson walkers.
